How to: Save your SHSH BLOBS with TinyUmbrella Jailbreak

A new alternative jailbreak called TinyUmbrella now, you can save your SHSH blobs so you don't lose your jailbreak if you upgrade to the new firmware after jailbreaking your device.

An ECID SHSH BLOBs or SHSH is basically a unique signature checked against Apple's servers when you decide to restore the firmware on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

When a new firmware is released to stop Apple signing older firmware, which makes it impossible to revert to the older firmware from iTunes; So, you must save your SHSH while Apple currently signing them so you will not be able to downgrade back to older firmware to re-jailbreak your device if you lose your SHSH.

The facility is not currently available from Cydia but the creator of Cydia has set up a new server which basically mimics Apple's control server and can save your older signature (SHSH BLOBs) so that you can downgrade or restore to the elderly built-in easy.

Instructions for saving your SHSH with TinyUmbrella

1. download and run TinyUmbrella and ensure that your iDevice is detected.
2. check the "advanced options".
3. Under "device/version," select the firmware version you want to save (you can only restore versions SHSH saved).
4. click "save my SHSH."
5. repeat to save other firmware hash values if you want.
6. Now, click "show SHSHs."It should be specified all hash values that you have saved on your computer for all your iDevices.

Instructions for restoring:
(Make sure you have saved your SHSH blobs locally method above; if not, repeat the method described above for the firmware you want to restore to.)

1. backup iDevice into iTunes and then close iTunes.
2. open TinyUmbrella and you do not get any errors at startup or you must make sure that port 80 is open and your hosts file is not correct to write-protected.
3. click on Start "TSS server"
4. download the firmware you want to restore to from here: iPhone/iPodTouch
5. open iTunes and use the shift/OPTION + Restore method to select the firmware file that you want to restore (upgrade button may not be used)
6. once the firmware has been reset, you can get a 1004 error not worry, just click on the "Kick drive recovery" If you get it.
7. Reset settings from backup in iTunes and sync.
