Hacker claims Elf 4.1 Jailbreak Is Here

In less than 24 hours after the official Elf 4.1 release has hackers successfully jailbroken the new update. The assertion came to light from a hacker known as pod2g who claims he has found an exploit that allows a jailbreak of Elf 4.1 and other hackers from the jailbreaking community has confirmed it. Hacker announced jailbreak via Twitter page claims that it works on iPhone, iPod 4 g and iPads.

Apple fixed the security hole that caused iPhone 4 jailbreak with an update and if this jailbreak is actually real user comments on the Web, Apple may need to come up with another update soon. This time, however, the update can be a hardware one on Apple to fix the problem; It is due to the fact that this particular jailbreak is based on a boot ROM, which means that it is a low-level part of the OS, and Apple will need to update the hardware — not the software – updating it.

This is certainly not good news for the company as it means that most Elf entities, regardless of the Elf version they have installed, can be vulnerable to exploit: iPhone, iPhone 3GS, 4 iPad, and so on.

Jailbreaking is now legally in the United States but it still voids your warranty and if you jailbroke your device before you probably do not update your software when Apple released a patch for a security hole PDF. If you want to upgrade your units to Elf 4.1 and keep it jailbroken, you should probably wait for jailbreak is available only to users who are still in development.Update now will you lose your previous jailbreak and the new jailbreak has not yet been publicly.
