Push notifications for Twitter for iPhone Coming Soon

Twitter announced in an e-mail message to all the major tech blog services that they currently testing push notifications on iPhone and iPad between themselves and the function will be made available for users soon.

Option already exists on the new Twitter app released for iPad recently and now it comes to the most popular Twitter client "Twitter for iPhone".The new Elf 4.1 released yesterday on the Apple press event will also support push notifications for Twitter makes it possible for users to get instant, real-time updates for certain types of tweets – DMs, @ replies etc. Twitter authorities said in his official statement:

When we launched the Twitter of iPad, there was a configuration error that caused us to offer push messages to a small set of users.We have stopped sending push messages, but the user can see an option to enable push until we release an updated version of the app, we have tested the push notifications internally.Push is not ready yet, but we look forward to roll it out soon.

Twitter for iPhone was originally "Tweetie" when it launched three months ago, is today one of the most used Twitter interface with 8% of all iPhone users that connect to their Twitter accounts through the app.
